The South Carolina Telco Alliance, a group of locally owned and operated companies that collectively provide telecommunications service to customers living in predominantly rural areas throughout South Carolina, is pleased with the results of the research by Connected Nation, released last week, mapping the availability of broadband services in South Carolina.
Connected Nation, a non-profit organization based in Washington D.C., was engaged by the state of South Carolina to assess the availability of broadband services from telephone, cable, wireless and other entities in South Carolina. The results of the mapping project effectively illustrate that SC Telco Alliance member companies have aggressively deployed broadband services throughout their rural service areas.
Brent Groome, Chief Executive- Customer Operations of HTC, a member of the Alliance, was not surprised by the results depicting widespread availability of broadband services in the rural areas of the State. “SC Telco Alliance companies primarily serve the state’s small towns and less populated areas. While the areas we serve are often sparsely populated and therefore more difficult and expensive to serve we pride ourselves on providing cutting-edge telecommunications services and technologies at fair affordable rates,” said Groome.
Groome further explained that “Alliance member companies have been very responsive to our customers in developing and deploying the latest technologies in telecommunications services, and we have consistently provided a wide variety of quality services at affordable prices.”
